Frequently asked questions
What counts as a seat?
A seat is for anyone who can change something: an Admin, an Editor, or a view-only person given a permission through an access group. View-only people are free and unlimited. The install owner, the account the setup wizard made, is never a seat. The people you track in the register are not logins at all, and there is no limit on them.
What counts as an organisation?
A separate register on the same install, with its own assets, people and settings. Most companies need one. MSPs and group companies run one per customer or subsidiary with the multi-organisation add-on.
Are assets really unlimited?
Yes. No plan limits the number of assets, and export is never restricted.
Which features need a paid plan?
None. Every feature is on every plan, Free included. A Team licence adds seats for the people who change things, and the multi-organisation add-on adds organisations.
Can I use Free for a business?
Yes. Free is the install owner plus unlimited view-only people in one organisation, with every feature and no asset limit. Add a Team licence when more people need to change things.
Can I change Team size later?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade through the customer portal, or contact us and we will sort it out.
Which single sign-on providers are supported?
Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace or any OpenID Connect provider such as Keycloak or Authentik, on every plan, Free included. Directory groups map to roles and access groups, and you can require single sign-on for everyone. Signing in does not use a seat by itself: view-only people are free, and a seat is used by each person who can change something.
Does Tagaris require internet access?
It runs on your own server. Annual licence keys verify offline after one activation, or fully offline with a licence file. See how licensing works.
What happens if my subscription expires?
Your register and every feature keep working, and nothing is deleted. After a 14 day grace period the install returns to the free plan: the seat holders are paused, not deleted, and come back when you renew. The owner and the view-only people carry on. Export always works.
